About Us

The Society of Automotive Engineers at UCSD is a group of dedicated students, primarily in the engineering fields, who take on various automotive engineering projects and competitions. These students benefit from real world experience through these projects by allowing them to apply the theory and teaching from the classroom to a real situation. The SAE experience also reinforces the important concepts of teamwork, advanced planning, and working within deadlines towards a final goal.
